TOMOCHAN is pakak sa busog at presyo

As a Hungry Byahero na over sa pagka takaw tikim, I look for meals na tamang tama sa hanap ng tiyan and ang ramen dito sa TOMOCHAN is pakak sa busog at presyo. Makatizens, they are located on the 11th floor (Food Odyssey) ng LKG tower waiting for youuu!

The vision of the Tomochan’s owner - who happens to be a lovely and accommodating haponesa, is for the Filipinos to enjoy the comfort and warmth that a bowl of ramen gives a person w/o leaving a black hole in their wallets.

We sampled their best selling shoyu and miso ramen, though their noodles aren’t the freshly pulled ones, it’ll do because it’s cooked just right. the broth, on the other hand, could do better. I mean, most of the ramen places boast of deep, rich, thick and flavorful broth, Tomochan has a milder and finer broth similar to those of chicken tinola or pesa (for comparison).

Shoyu Special (Up) and Spicy Miso Tantan

Another component I found needed a bit more spunk was the spicy miso tantan because it wasn’t that spicy. the heat will trickle your tongue but it will not linger so for those who are used to getting their money’s worth when they see ‘spicy’ on the menu, you’ll need to add in a couple of teaspoons of their chili in that bowl.

Tonkatsu Rice Bowl

Still, considering the amount they tag on these babies, I guess we can let that slide. speaking of price, it really is affordable, you can get a meal for 79php at the very least! their filling yes, but it needs something to spruce it up, like for the tonkatsu bowl (at 99PHP), the cabbage could’ve been drenched in a mayo dressing just to contrast the fried element of the pork. yes, there’s tonkatsu sauce, but it wasn’t enough to complement the dish per se. the rice though was good, it’s not jap rice but it’s close to it because it’s fluffy and soft.

towards the end of the meal, they wowed us with a humungous bowl of their shoyu special. OMG, it was colossal! it’s probably the size of a 3yr old kid in a fetal position, haha, that was the first thing that popped in my head. They haven’t got a name for it yet nor the price or when it’ll debut, but it’s in the pipeline. we suggested an eating challenge or the likes to peak the interests of customers or people who are just that selfish w/ their ramen servings.

because the place is located in a food court, people do crowd this booth. if you’re in the area, why not try ‘em out and have a fill of their offerings then lemme know what you think about ‘em?!
