all ‘em BGC party animals, represented at the exclusive launch of Saint Lucia distilleries, chairman’s reserve rum. everyone donned their cool and chic Caribbean ensemble to match the exquisite flavor of this awesome liquor and to complete the feels, live animals joined in on the fun- a gawking owl, a majestic cockatoo and a couple of ‘em slithering yet tamed constrictors.

bloggers and high society people partied and drank to the cocktails that showcased the spectrum of its enchanting molasses taste. the laced drinks for that night were: chairman’s airmail (bubbly refreshing- thanks to the lime and prosecco), chairman’s old fashioned (liquor forward because it’s sweet and strong complemented by the Angostura bitters), chairman’s Mai Thai (refreshingly fruity and sweet thanks to the sugar cane and orange spirits), chairman’s st. lucian negroni (bitter and sweet as the addition of Campari and sweet vermouth was astounding) and chairman’s Marigot sling (great for non-drinkers for it’s one fruity and sweet concoction of falernum, fresh pineapple juices, and Angostura bitters).

we also enjoyed some nummy bites in between those island libations. we got served watermelon and kesong puti skewers drizzled w/ chilli balsamic glaze (didn’t feel the kick of said chilli in the title, but the depth of the glaze against the mellow cheese and sweet watermelon was incredible), Hawaiian pork bbq in pineapple soy (this was love, I badly wanted a cup of rice w/ this), spicy tuna tartare atop crispy tortilla w/ jalapeño cream and cucumber salsa (I love how the tortilla had a puffy cracker texture to it and I was amazed as I did not discern I was eating a pseudo cooked fish meat) and spiced beef kebab w/ garlic yoghurt (w/c to me did no scream “island feels” but it was tasty than your usual kebab place snacks).

the program started and ended w/ an amazingly chill and mood setting reggae music. well, there really was no program, the music was turned, cocktails overflowed (but then ran out halfway before the party finished along w/ the food), guests came in by the hour, personalized leather coin purses were given to those who posted pics about the party w/ the corresponding hashtags and before leaving the venue, a token of their absolute “must-have” rum were hand out to the attendees. it was an amazing experience to become a part of this milestone w/ Saint Lucia distilleries. their spirited pride and joy in a bottle were shared w/ everyone that came and celebrated their success and hard work to create such a majestic brand.
